ACETILCISTEIN is an N-acetylated derivative of the 'sulphurised' amino acid cysteine.
It has antioxidant and mucolytic activity and thus plays a key role in combating skin ageing. NAC eliminates free radicals, formed by lipid peroxidation, which would otherwise cause cell membranes to break down, leading to degeneration and biochemical dysfunction (impact on DNA and RNA).
